HC Opioids

National surveillance data on opioid- and stimulant-related harms in Canada, compiled by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) from provincial and territorial reports. Includes four outcome measures: apparent opioid toxicity deaths, opioid-related poisoning hospitalizations, opioid-related emergency department visits, and suspected opioid-related overdose EMS responses. Data is reported quarterly from 2016 onward. Geographic coverage varies by outcome measure, and recent quarters may contain preliminary data subject to revision.

Wastewater

The Canadian COVID-19 Wastewater Surveillance Program monitors viral signals in wastewater from treatment plants across Canada. The program tracks SARS-CoV-2 (N2 gene), Influenza A, Influenza B, and RSV. Data is collected from multiple monitoring sites and aggregated at site, provincial, and national levels on a weekly basis. The weighted average (w_avg) represents the population-weighted mean viral signal across sites within each geographic area.
